MARSEILLE SUMMER IDENTITY

A small-group environment for individual growth.

ART of – Stage de Danse Marseille connects classical foundations with William Forsythe repertoire, classical repertoire, pas de deux, creative practice, musicality and individual artistic development.

Across the focused seven-day programme, these disciplines support and inform one another. Participants work in age- and level-appropriate groups, with precise correction and close attention to interpretation, coordination, spatial awareness and the development of independent artistic choices.

TRAINING FOCUS

Classical precision

Placement, coordination, musicality, strength and individual technical correction.

Choreographic intelligence

Timing, space, dynamics, intention and the structure behind movement.

The Forsythe perspective

Spatial awareness, movement choices and choreographic tools inspired by William Forsythe’s approach to movement and composition.

Professional perspective

Professional dancers can use Marseille to revisit technical organisation, deepen repertoire and interpretive choices, expand creative resources and receive focused individual feedback.

The programme is designed to support dancers at different stages of their professional path, whether currently working in a company, freelancing or developing their practice independently.

Repertoire & performance

Musicality, interpretation and stage awareness connect technical precision with artistic presence.

Individual development

Focused coaching helps each dancer recognise individual strengths, understand current priorities and define the next steps in their artistic and professional development.

THE FORSYTHE PERSPECTIVE

Practical tools for exploring, deciding and communicating through movement.

ART of – Stage de Danse Marseille is presented with the kind support of William Forsythe. His Improvisation Technologies and choreographic principles offer practical tools for exploring space, geometry, coordination, articulation and compositional choice.

In Marseille, this work complements classical ballet and repertoire, helping dancers connect technical structure with choreographic understanding, spatial awareness and greater artistic independence.

PROFESSIONAL CONTINUITY

Development does not stop with a contract. Professional dancers can use ART of - Stage de Danse Marseille to revisit technical organisation, deepen repertoire, expand creative resources and receive individual feedback. Professional participation is subject to level, programme fit and capacity.

SEVEN-DAY PROCESS

A compact intensive with continuity

Participation period and dancer profile are selected separately. Marseille is designed as one complete, connected seven-day intensive, allowing each day to build on previous material, corrections and artistic development.

Limited one-day or single-class participation may be considered separately, subject to the dancer’s level, the final schedule and available capacity.

OBSERVATION CLASSES

Observe how training is constructed and adapted

Teachers, pedagogues and dance professionals can observe how classes are structured and developed across different levels, with attention to progression, exercise design, musical choices, correction language, William Forsythe Repertoire and dancer care.
